The reason why I love the Bathroom Confrontation between Marinette and Lila so much is thanks to its direction. Whoever storyboard this between Wilfried or Jun  knew what they were doing. They make the characters move and give the best angle to visually communicate the situation at hand. 

First, the way the camera frame those two. It’s like a duel. Marinette advances. Lila steps back, losing ground. Or so we think.

Here Lila is still stepping back. Marinette enters the frame as big and menacing but notice the low angle shot facing Lila. She appears small and Lila sure gives off that impression by holding her hands like that  but that camera angle suggests she is still in control. 

Next shot, camera angle is normal. Marinette keeps advancing to take a portion the frame. But notice she only takes about a third of it when she stops advancing.

There, Lila seems small, but she raises up her head. Unshaken. Lila is also lightly facing the left of the frame, where the space is empty (where Lila stands, she still has of plenty of room behind to move too.). Also in that shot, Marinette takes a step back when Lila tells her “I only tell people what they want to hear”

Now, it’s Lila turns to move. Lila manifests a calm and confident attitude. We can compared with it Mari’s body language from earlier which connoted anger and confrontation. And Marinette is stepping back.

Here notice that despites Lila’s the one moving forward, we don’t see Marinette’s reaction. The camera remains on Lila who gets closer to the cam and takes more and more room in the frame. 

The next shots following are used to amplified that Marinette is cornered. First, Marinette is litterally against the wall (notice that even if we have changed the shot for a closer one, the mirror is used so Lila remains in the frame)

Then, Lila traps her with her arms. No escape possible. And the low-angle is back again to boost that dominating effect Lila has on Marinette.

And to conclude, an extreme close-up on Lila’s as she gives her ultimatum. 

Seriously, that scene looks simple, but the storyboarder definitively put thoughts to make it the most effective possible and hinting us that Marinette was never the one in control of the events here

I am going to make a real serious discourse.

Feri has reached her limit, that’s it. It is months, what am I saying, YEARS Ferisae is keeping everything inside without having the chance to say what she thinks about this whole situation. It’s understandable she is being a bit salty about it.

Like, imagine being her: she knows some of the crew Don’t want spoilers, then she is being asked from Zag to make spoilers. Imagine being in the middle of these two sides and feeling guilty because, you know, it’s disrespectful towards one doing it and it’s disrespectful towards others NOT doing it.

Imagine being continuously forced to make spoilers EVEN from fans. Every day, every week, every month, tons of email that ask you to reveal spoilers, that maybe they think you know anything about the whole show, while maybe that’s not quite even true, so you can’t make spoilers even if you wanted to.

Maybe these people act in an entitled way, demanding for spoilers and insulting you if you don’t want to release them, because, as I said before, you simply CANNOT release spoilers.

How do you think a person would not reach their limit? How do you think she felt about this whole situation?

Then imagine you know things that are gonna happen since years and you read people acting like they know anything about the show, which is not true, you read people that are so sure the writers TAKE STUFF FROM FANFICTIONS just because some names are similar or the same (it’s not like you can be that unique with puns and words, guys. It’s pretty normal some things are similar, even names) they think it’s perfectly legit to rant every day and being very rude behind the back or even in public posts.

People so sure the writers Don’t know what they are doing and steal stuff you made, just because your fantasy followed the same their path.

Imagine being so pissed of this whole situation of months and reaching the point where you just can’t stand it anymore.

I really want to make a serious statement right now. I’m serious as hell.

You are insulting people for months, telling them they are not good enough for being writers of the show you like. You are telling them they are hypocrite, they steal ideas, they don’t know their own characters. That you write better than them.

You like the show but can’t stop hating at who invented the show for you.

I have seen very, very rude statements on this site in past days. I usually prefer to stay silent about salt and stuff, but… I think you are exaggerating too much. There’s a limit people should not pass over and I have seen very disappointing stuff in here.

I really don’t like how it’s going on lately in this fandom. I am really worried and shocked, because this used to be such a good fandom and I feel like everything is going to wreck like everywhere else.

I have seen stuff like: “this is not professional from them” “that is not professional from them”, “this is hypocritical” “that is wrong”

You know what is wrong? That you expect people to be robot. This is wrong. Because nor Saint Peter could stand years of insults from what they claim to be fans of something you made.

Every each one of us, even myself, would explode, reaching a certain point.

You are dehumanising people, asking them to be the Virgin Mary while standing this unlimited river of hate and insults without saying a word. This is ridiculous, I’m sorry.

This is just impossible.

People get angry, people can’t stand bullism for long, please try to be in others shoes, for once. You are acting like bullies and then pretending to be a victim. This is just wrong.

P.S: And if you want me to explain why you are definitely WRONG about the whole “They copy from Fanfictions” stuff, I would just tell you that the redemption arc you saw just in the past season was in Thomas mind since the first time Chloe appeared on screen. Chloe being the Queen Bee was hidden into her Color Code in her design.

Nathalie being Mayura was hidden into her design.

Alya was Rena Rouge since her birth in designer’s mind.

Adrien being a disaster in love and as Chat Noir was written up in his face since the very first concept of him. Same for Marinette.

I don’t continue because It’s gonna be a spoiler, but you know which other else’s design was blatantly speaking for himself.

Everything was written inside the script since the beginning, and if you don’t realize it, I’m sorry, it’s not something that depends on the artists who work on the show.

Very, very disappointing.

my exact stance. the world of tv production, story and especially animation takes months to years before it even gets to the film/illustrations. and then another detrimental amount of time to get it on screen.

There is a saying that there are no original ideas.

I cant tell you how many fan arts I never post because I come up with an idea, but then someone else had nearly an identical one, and sometimes right around the same time no less!! But I didn’t want to be accused of idea theft, even though I know it’s not true.

Please think about how these creators are affected with this knowledge, but they press forward anyways because it’s their passion and the story they want to tell.

I totally understand Feri in that situation, as you said, is impossible to remain silent while people are throwing shit at the creators for what exactly? Doing their job? Making their plans for plot real? DEVELOPING THE SERIES?

Seriously, we should already be so happy that the creators are active on social media and have contact with their fans because, surprise surprise, many authors don’t care about the fan community at all. Miraculous creators are really eager to communicate with us, the fandom and yet they still receive so much hate for nothing.

Seriously guys, appreciate what we have already, try to imagine how you would feel in the Crew’s shoes. Think before you say something.
